Kason's 5th Birthday

It's crazy how fast time flies... my SECOND child is already 5 years old! Wow, where has the time gone? Kason was so excited for his birthday this year. He had been patiently waiting through Brooklyn's and Aiden's birthday for his own.  He kept saying he was the "birthday boy." :)

We started a tradition where our kids get to pick a place to go out to lunch on their birthday so before the party started at 2, we were off to Cafe Rio. Kason loves Cafe Rio so that was his pick. We ate quickly then headed back to get ready for the kids party.  He was having a "sports" themed party so we set up some games that had to do with sports.  Bob set up the bounce house while I taped the cement off for the basketball shoot. :) Teamwork right? :)

The kids started arriving at 2 and we got started. (I don't have many pics of the kids party because I was the one in charge of the games.) We did a basketball shoot-out, then we made soccer goals with the soccer ball, then did a baseball toss.  In keeping with the "sports" theme, we had a baseball pinata and a "put the medal on the athlete" game. I gave out mini trophies and medals for the prizes of the games.  For the "treat" we made homemade cotton candy. :) Yum!

After the kids party came the family party. We kept with the "sports" theme and did food you would find at a baseball stadium. We served pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, (pasta salad too), homemade slushies, pepsi (in real pepsi cups with lids and straws). My center pieces were peanuts, cracker jacks, and popcorn. :) It turned out way cute. We even served the food in the nacho trays like you would get at a ball game. :) Kason loved it!

All in all, it was a great party and Kason had a great time. He is growing up so fast.  He has the sweetest personality and is so nice to everyone.  Kason is our little comedian.  EVERY DAY he says something to crack me up. He still likes to give hugs and really tries hard to mind his parents.  We love him so much and are so grateful he is in our lives! :) Love you son!
