Beaver Mountain Camp-out

 - WARNING - PICTURE OVERLOAD - LONG POST OVERLOAD -
Thursday/Friday:
Thursday - We arrived at the camp spot Thursday around 5.  We were the first ones so we had to find a spot to fit 7 trailers. We finally settled in a spot and set up camp. Shortly after, Cindy arrived with her trailer. It was getting close to dark so we really just had time to eat dinner and go look for deer and elk out in the meadow. There were some huge bucks but it was a little too dark to take a picture.

Friday- We started the day by moving camp. :) We found a better spot to fit all 7 trailers and to keep the dust down. Afterward, it was wheelers, wheelers, wheelers for Kason. This is the first year he has been able to drive by himself! HE LOVED IT! Look at the pro! :)

Carylee came around noon. We got an early start on the cards by teaching Cindy and Courtney how to play. :) Everyone else showed up later in the evening. The kids were excited to see their cousins to play with. :)

**Side note: Friday night our heater started going crazy! It was almost like it was back-firing to light. It would go off 3 or 4 times before it would light and it sounded like a shotgun. I couldn't sleep. I was worried the trailer was going to start on fire. Finally around 2:30 I decided to turn it off and brave the cold. I didn't sleep much at all. I kept getting out of bed to cover the kids with blankets. Needless to say, it was a long night...

Saturday:
Saturday morning we woke up to a deer right by our trailer. :) Bob and the kids spotted it while eating breakfast. :) Then everyone was out to play. We played Frisbee, bad-mitten, rode more wheelers, played cards and dominoes. Chad brought up his dogs, which included a new 3-month old puppy. This poor dog.... :) The kids hardly ever let it out of their sights... they held it 24-7. I finally had to tell them to just let the puppy play... so then they built a 'play area' for it out of branches.
I asked Russ if he knew anything about trailer furnaces... since he is one of the handiest people I know... he told me he'd take a look at it.  Little did I know it would turn into an all-morning event, with every Eardley guy on hand. :) I was very grateful for them looking at it. The un-hooked it, took it apart, cleaned it, and put it all back together again... with no luck ... :( Bummer. But we had some laughs along the way! :)

They planned dutch oven chicken and potatoes for dinner so they started that around 5. We, (Me, Susan, Jess, and Michelle), took advantage of the guys cooking and played a little Rook. Michelle and I were winning 415 to -5... but then, they started getting all the good hands! Susan even got a "shoot the moon" hand and added 200 points to their score. We had to stop just in time for dinner when the score was 425 to 480 (their lead). We, of course, all talked smack of who was going to be the winners! :) In the end... Michelle got a good hand to win the game for us! :) It was a really fun game. :)
We made a fire for the first time tonight (Saturday). Aiden was cracking me up with Brecken. They were talking up a storm. They must have played for an hour with those pieces of wood. :)

Sunday:
Sunday was the first time Brooklyn decided to get on the wheeler. :) She did really well too! It was fun to see them go outside their boundaries a little and try new things... even if it makes them a little nervous. :)

We played cards and dominoes again. ;) Me and Cindy won this time against the rematch of Susan and Jess. ;) My mom and Ken stopped on their way home from Park City. We played a little canasta outside in the nice cool breeze.  They ate dinner with us and got back on the road. :)  We went and looked for deer and elk again later in the evening and spotted a bunch of elk.  The evening ended with a campfire and funny stories. :)

Here is a panoramic of our camp site. :)
And here is the crew: ;)
